“Annette Funicello<\/span><\/h3>\n

born October 22, 1942 was an American actress and singer. Funicello began her professional career as a child performer at the age of twelve. She rose to prominence as one of the most popular “Mouseketeers” on the original Mickey Mouse Club. As a teenager, she transitioned to a successful career as a singer with the pop singles “O Dio Mio,” “Tall Paul” and “Pineapple Princess”, as well as establishing herself as a film actress, popularizing the successful “Beach Party” genre alongside co-star Frankie Avalon during the mid-1960s.<\/p>\n

In 1992, Funicello announced her having been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She died from complications of the disease on April 8, 2013.”<\/p>\n

Jamie and I ditched P.E. to go to the Shopping Bag supermarket for coffee.<\/p>\n

The Shopping Bag on Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta had a snack bar downstairs in the parking structure.<\/p>\n

In fact my cousin had her first non baby-sitting job there.<\/p>\n

I believe Jamie and I did this more than once. Anyway, the P.E. instructor found out that we were gone, and threatened to delay our graduation by flunking us in P.E., thereby forcing us to attend summer school to make it up. We did some big-time serious groveling to change his mind thereby getting one more chance.<\/p>\n

Can’t figure whatever happened to Jamie. Someone that clever just couldn\u2019t disappear?!<\/span><\/h3>\n

Because\u00a0 of the big earthquake, the Shopping Bag parking structure had to be reconstructed, and the snack bar was not rebuilt, only existing now as a dim memory.<\/p>\n
