She adored her brother and gave up everything &#8211;even marriage&#8211;to care for him.&#8221;<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;In this case Fischer was not only visualizing a game without benefit of board, pieces, or printed score; he was creating it, composing it as a motion picture in his mind.&#8221;<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;witnessing two players competing without sight of a board can evoke astonishment.&#8221;<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;Collllins was the co-author of the then latest edition of, Modern Chess Openings, which contained thousands of variations, positions, analyses, and recommendations.&#8221;<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;It was humid, threatening to drizzle. Fischer had just returned from the U.S. Open Championship in Oklahoma City, the youngest player at thirteen, ever to compete in the event. Collins was former New York State Champion, a veteran tournament player, and a renowned teacher of the game. He was forty-four years old.&#8221;<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;Fischer grudgingly agreed to a draw, then his mind immediately shifted to what awaited: his favorite Chinese meal of Egg Drop Soup, Chicken Chop Suey, and pistachio ice cream.&#8221;<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">(from &#8220;Endgame&#8221; by Frank Brady)<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Brie interjects:<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The Wasteland Years in Los Angeles<\/span><\/h3>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><\/p>\n<p>Bobby\u00a0 Fischer moved to South Pasadena not long after becoming world champion by defeating the entire, mighty, Soviet chess system!<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Lived in someone\u2019s basement on Mockingbird Lane for awhile. Whereupon moved to Orange Street in Los Angeles near Wilshire and Fairfax.<\/p>\n<p>Existed on the royalties from his two books, and his mother\u2019s social security checks sent by his lovely sister Joan.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.brietv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/joan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2382\" title=\"joan\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brietv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/joan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Without the big bucks from the Philippines for playing Karpov of the Soviet Union, circumstances got gradually worse.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Occasional trips to Palo alto to visit his sister, who was married to a Stanford scientist, and a trip to Berkeley to visit with the current US champion, which ended in a bad way from Fischer running\u00a0 up the phone bill of his host.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Amazing how such a genius could devolve into failure.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Always low on money, wearing shabby clothes, without a car, and no romantic love!<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.brietv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/love.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2383\" title=\"love\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brietv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/love.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"180\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Residing in downtown Los Angeles skid-row flop houses, while searching book stores for questionable reading material, and who knows whatever else occurred downtown!?.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">Going into coffee shops with a shopping bag containing oranges, and a hand-cranked juicer to make his own fresh-squeezed <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">orange <\/span>juice for his breakfast.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Time to go back to the 32 pieces and 64 squares!<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;He<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> [Fischer]<\/span> connected all this with the rage he still felt for the loss of personal effects he&#8217;d kept for years in a store room<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> [Bekins&#8211;Pasadena] <\/span>in California, which had been sold at auction when the storage rent wasn&#8217;t paid.&#8221; <\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">[&#8220;Storage Wars!&#8221;]<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">*****************************************************<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">The winner of the Peggy Olson [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">MAD <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">MEN<\/span>] look-alike contest is Andrealea:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.brietv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/andrealea.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2389\" title=\"andrealea\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brietv.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/andrealea.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"102\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">&#8220;Eclectic 29 year old life long crossdresser from Eire Pennsylvania, looking to befriend others.
